Monthly Tax Rates Revealed Under Tajir Dost Scheme in Pakistan

LAHORE – Tajir Dost Scheme was launched to support small traders and businesses, offering financial assistance, tax incentives, and training programs to enhance the business environment for Small and medium-sized enterprises.

Lately, authorities rolled out tax table under a trader-friendly scheme, specifying the monthly tax amounts for traders in different regions. In most areas, the tax rate is set at Rs5,000 per month. For less than 15pc of areas, it is around Rs10,000, while 5pc of areas will require 20,000 rupees monthly.

Traders in 2percent of areas will pay Rs30,000, and those in 0.6pc of areas will pay Rs45,000 rupees. The highest tax, 60,000 rupees, applies to 0.32pc of areas.

Traders can receive a 25percent discount on lump sum tax payments to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Those with concerns about excessive taxes should address them to the Chief Coordinator of the Trader-Friendly Scheme.

Amid new taxes, traders in Lahore and other cities denounced the move, citing inflared electricity bills and called these fixed taxes as unacceptable.
