Construction work on multipurpose Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project is being carried out day and night and the project will be completed during high flow season in 2025.
This was stated by the project authorities during a briefing to the Lahore-based media delegation who visited the dam site on Thursday.
Mohmand Dam Project General Manager Javed Afridi and Director General Security and LA &R Brig Imtiaz Hussain and Contractors were also present during the visit.
The delegation was briefed that Mohmand Dam is the 5th highest concrete-face-rock-fill Dam (CFRD) in the world and eight months.
The project authorities told the delegation that the total priority land has already been acquired with the unprecedented support of the locals, District Administration of Tribal District Mohmand and the Provincial Government of KP and with concerted efforts by WAPDA Land Acquisition and Resettlement officers. Rs. 4.53 billion will be spent on Confidence Building Measures (CBM) in the project area for socio-economic development of the locals.
The delegation was further informed that enhanced security arrangements have enabled the project management to carry out construction work day and night to meet the construction schedule.
