Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs & Human Rights Ijaz Alam Augustine has said that all the religious minorities living across Pakistan are enjoying equal rights while Punjab government has provided minority empowerment package for the welfare of religious minorities and ensured effective measures to protect their rights.
He was talking to the media after visiting Yuhanabad on Tuesday along with Minister for Wildlife and Fisheries Asad Khokhar and MPA Haroon Gill.
They reviewed ongoing development work in detail and also listened to issues of community. Religious minorities gave a hearty welcome to the provincial ministers and presented flowers to all the dignitaries.
Ijaz said that special funds have been made available for the renovation of places of worship of religious minorities and construction or repair of religious places, while the scope of scholarships for students of religious minorities has been further expanded. Special quotas have been fixed in top level universities.
The provincial minister further said that during the PTI rule, all sects are working together to promote mutual love and peace in new Pakistan.
Provincial Minister Asad Khokhar said that the agenda of PTI is just service of nation and moving forward without any discrimination and all stakeholders should have to work together to promote peace in the country.
