New York
Following a number of legal battles, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can finally breathe a sigh of relief for their new project.
The name of their new non-profit venture Archewell had been facing quite some setbacks but that challenge seems to be behind them now.
The couple’s charity had been opposed by Scott Kantro, New York healthcare bigwig’s rival charity looking to trademark the name Archecares.
While the Sussex pair could have faced humiliation of having to change the name after official announcements, the two were saved despite Kantro having filed for the name before the former royals.
Kantro’s application was declared null after he failed to timely respond to the court’s request for additional information.
According to an insider cited by the Daily Mail, “The name is a huge deal for Harry and Meghan.
It would have been humiliating if they had to go back to the drawing board and come up with something different after announcing the name to the world.”
While Harry and Meghan had initially planned on calling the charity Sussex Royal, they were barred from using the title as they no longer can avail the royal status.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s lives have been in the public’s eye despite their persistent efforts of keeping themselves hidden.
And now, a new book has brought undisclosed details about the Sussex pair’s life across the pond and all the struggles that have been part of their transition into their new chapter away from the royals.
Andy Tillett and Dylan Howard’s new book titled Royals At War: The Inside Story of Harry and Meghan’s Shocking Split with the House of Windsor, cited sources about all the gloomy things Harry has been feeling away from his family.
“It hit home for him that Charles and the Queen aren’t going to be around forever,” quoted the book. “Harry’s biggest fear is not being there if his grandmother were to die,”
It also revealed that after Prince Charles’s coronavirus diagnosis was made public, Prince Harry worried for his father’s health and was also upset about him being far away from home.
Citing a former friend of the Duchess of Sussex, the book reveals: “Meghan has always been fascinated with the creation of a ‘brand.’ I do not believe she married Harry with that solely in mind, but it was a determining factor.”—AP
