ISLAMABAD – PDM President and Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman on Wednesday rejected election 2024 results and announced to stage protests against alleged rigging.
The seasoned politician holds a press conference after a party meeting in which he said the rigging in 2024 had shattered all previous records of rigging. He said decisions will now be taken in the streets instead of the assemblies.
Fazl said that if establishment considers elections to be free and fair then May 9 narrative has been buried. He decries bribery in election and said that some people have been gifted ‘entire assemblies’.
JUI-F chief further called on PML-N to sit in opposition with the his party. He said final decision on where and when the protest would take place will be decided in consultation with the party’s general body.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl fails to maintain its position even in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. JUI-F was touted as the most popular party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after Imran Khan’s party with solid vote bank in southern districts.
The party however managed to win only single national assembly seat, that too from the provincial capital, by the electable Noor Alam Khan on NA-28.
