Manchester United dealt with the visiting Nottingham Forest at home to reach the final of the Carabao Cup.
Antony Martial and Fred scored goals in the second half as Erik Ten Hag’s men consolidated a 3-0 first-leg lead to easily punch their ticket to Wembley.
With the tie practically decided, the match got off to a far slower pace than the teams’ last meeting with 17 minutes passing for either side to produce a shot with Wayne Hennessey easily denying Antony.
The Welsh keeper kept away further efforts from Casemiro, Wout Weghorst and Garnacho as Forest failed to create anything going forward.
United finally found their goal in the 73rd minute when Scott McKenna denied Marcus Rashford but the ball kindly fell to Martial who beat Hennessey to open the scoring.
Fred then killed off the game just three minutes later when Rashford got on the end of a brilliant Bruno Fernades pass to find the Brazilian across the face of the goal who easily tapped in to complete the scoreline.
With little left to play for, Danilo and Fernandes traded chances at the opposite ends but the result was never in doubt from the very first whistle.
Manchester United will now face Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on February 26th.
