On the directions of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Managing Director Rao Imtiaz Ahmad, the department has adopted all preventive measures to combat coronavirus.
Department has given all PPE`s (personal protective equipment’s) to field workers to ensure their health and safety.
A special screening activity of workers was conducted at Barket Market and Gulberg to monitor their temperature prior deputing them to their respective beats.
The MD also monitored the activity himself along with GM Operations Sohail Malik. The MD stated that purpose of the screening is to ensure that workers are not affected by the virus and if so they will be given immediate medical relief and will be taken off from the field.
He appealed the citizens for not to make unnecessary movements in the city and to dispose of the waste properly.
Talking on the occasion, Sohail Malik stated that more than 700 vehicles and 8000 workers are performing their duty in the field to ensure a clean and healthy environment.
Moreover under the supervision of GM Operations Barket market and its neighbouring area was washed with disinfectant. LWMC spokesperson stated that citizens can dial LWMC helpline 1139 or can use mobile based application for waste related complaints.
