Fears another ‘operation’ during Eid

Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has expressed his dissatisfaction over the low turnout of party workers from Peshawar at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore for security duties.

During a meeting with workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at Zaman Park, Imran inquired about the presence of workers from Peshawar. In response, some workers raised their hands.

Observing the low turnout, the PTI chief remarked that “Peshawar looks weak to me… it seems that the passion in Peshawar is fading.”

Some party members however did not agree with the statement, with Ishtiaq Urmar, PTI’s Peshawar region president, clarifying that the largest number of workers at Zaman Park are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly from Peshawar.

Urmar also stated that workers from Peshawar have been at the forefront of every movement of the party and that “Khan sahib had a misunderstanding which was later cleared up.”

He added that the party chief has acknowledged that workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and especially those from Peshawar, have provided support in every difficulty.
