Justice Shahid Jamil Khan resigns as LHC judge

LAHORE – Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Shahid Jamil Khan resigned from the post for some personal reasons, it emerged on Friday.

Reports said that Justice Khan has sent his resignation to President Arif Ali. He was appointed in the high court on March 22, 2014 and his official retirement day was April 29, 2028.

“I, Justice Shahid Jamil Khan, after having served as a Judge of Lahore High Court, Lahore for about ten years, hereby exercise the option to resign under Article 206(1) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 with immediate effect.

lt, was an absolute honor to hold the office, but for personal circumstances, I have decided to turn the page and start a new chapter. ‘An ounce of discretion is worth a pound of wit’” reads the resignation letter.
