Lecture held on Ismat Chughtai, first rebel of Urdu fiction

Arts Council of Pakistan  organized a lecture on Ismat Chughtai” the first rebel of Urdu fiction ismat chugtai” at Hasina Moin Hall. The program was presided over by the well-known poetess Zahra Nigah , while the duties of Moderator  were performed by Ambareen  Haseeb Amber, well-known writer Nasir Abbas Nayyar gave a lecture on Ismat Chughtai.

In the ceremony, President of Arts Council Mohammad Ahmad Shah, Noor ul Huda Shah, Tanveer Anjum, Fatima Hassan, Anwar Sen Rai, Ezra Abbas, Afzal Ahmed, Nasra Zuberi were included and other intellectuals were also present in the program. President of Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah said that the tradition of thinking is disappearing in our society, it is no less than a blessing to have people like Nasir Abbas Nayyer today.

It is happening earlier, there was a tradition of public knowledge, in which most people including Qamar Jalil, Saleem Ahmed, Raees Amrohi, Shaukat Siddiqui used to sit all the writers in houses and hotels. Big writers also used to sit at Quetta Piala Hotel. Due to the money economy and chaos, this tendency is decreasing. Whatever high values are there who tried to develop this civilization after spending thousands of years, it is considered that it should be killed by someone of nobility and high values. The excellence and honor of knowledge, intellectuals, writers and poets, why are they in the society? If these people are not there, then what business of life will stop.

We will hold an evening in the name of Zahra Apa, in which she will tell us her stories. On September 20, it is the anniversary of Mir Taqi Mir . Well-known poetess Zahra Nigah expressed her opinion and said that I am not a critic, I have almost memorized the stories of Ismat Apa. My heart wants Ahmed Shah to be the great Urdu writer. Make a recording of selected stories of the writers, in which the tone, pronunciation, text and meaning are clear.

It is the job of great writers to save. As much as I know Ismat Chughtai, it is a great honor for me. Rebellion, honesty, courage and mischief can be seen in his stories. People spoke with his pen, Ismat Apa’s speech was very powerful. Ismat was bathed in the flames of Ismat Chughtai and refreshed. In the ceremony, Nasir Abbas Nayyer gave a lecture and said ‘The lectures started by Ahmed Shah are commendable. Ismat Chughtai started telling people 80 years ago that women can also rebel. Before that, all rebellions happened in wars, in society and by men. One such. The woman who was first abandoned by her mother. Ismat’s mother used to say to him that two children died, why did you not die?  She writes that my father used to be convinced by listening to me, but it was my mother who rejected me after I was born. When I was handed over to Anna, she also left, when I was handed over to my sister, she also left after marriage, then she Surrendered to fate. After matriculation, Ismat Chughtai was stopped by his father from further education. Ismat Chughtai said if you don’t admit me to college, I will go to mission school and accept Christianity there. Then they will enroll me in the mission school and I will study the same. Ismat Chughtai, facing such situations, gave the lesson that if a woman wants to live with courage, she has to stand on her feet economically. There was a rebellion in his nature. She got a lot of support from her father and brother. In 1932, two books were published, these two books were about the rebellion of Ismat Chughtai. If she eats shoes and does not do it, then it is obligatory to be angry with her. A man can make a woman a goddess, but he cannot give her equal status. I am sorry for that. A woman who is independent does not fear anyone. Basing the theory on her experience, wrote the woman till her last breath. She used to say that I write what I see. Her language is like a woman telling a story to many people. She took the hard way. Ismat Chughtai gave Urdu fiction a home for the first time. In the lecture Sheema Kirmani read some lines of ismat chugtai ‘s writings.
