After the Indian Government banned the Muslim organization Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associates, under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Rashtra Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has demanded a ban on Hindu militant group Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
Yadav called the RSS a “Hindu extremist organisation” that deserved to be banned. “They keep raising the bogey of PFI.
It is the RSS, which is all about Hindu extremism (‘kattarpanth’), which deserves to be banned first,” said former Bihar chief minister. Yadav pointed out that the Indian government was targeting Muslim organisations. First of all, ban the RSS, he said, adding that it is a worse organisation. “If you get anything, then take action,” he said. “Efforts are being made to spread bigotry.
The Modi government banned PFI and its associate organizations including Campus Front of India, Rehab India Foundation, All India Imams Council, National Confederation of Human Rights Organisations, National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala.—INP
