LAHORE – More rains and gusty winds with isolated heavy falls are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave affects upper parts of the country.
Under these conditions, rains and gusty winds are expected in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Sahiwal on Thursday night and the following two days. Heavy falls may also occur at few places during the period.
Rain-wind/thundershowers are also expected at isolated places in Bhakkar, Layyah, Taunsa, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur.
Torrential rains may cause flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan from 05th to 07th July. Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. Landslides may disrupt traffic in Murree, Galyat.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Friday and 35-37°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in Lahore, Pothohar region and northeast Punjab during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Maximum temperature in Dera Ghazi Khan was recorded at 42°C, and Multan at 41°C.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 65 per cent.
