Lahore, Punjab weather update; more intermittent rains expected

LAHORE – More intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday night and Friday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), shallow westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan.

Under these weather conditions, rains are expected at isolated places in northeast Punjab and Pothohar region on Thursday night.

On Friday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, more rains are expected in Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Nanka Sahib.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. However, rains occurred in Lahore and at isolated places in northeast Punjab.

Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Jhelum remained the hottest places in Punjab where the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 81 per cent.
