Lahore, Punjab weather update; isolated rains, gusty winds predicted

LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted isolated rains and gusty/dust-raising winds in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday and Tuesday.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted at isolated places in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Kasur, Lahore, Sheikhupura and Gujranwala on Monday and Tuesday. Extremely hot weather with gusty/dust-raising winds is likely in southern districts. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 43-45°C on Monday and Tuesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry prevailed in Lahore and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. Gusty/dust-raising winds occurred during the period.

Bhakkar and Noorpur Thal remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. Maximum temperature in Hafizabad, Okara, Dera Ghazi Khan and Gujranwala was recorded at 46°C.

In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 24 per cent.
