KU syndicate approves honorary PhD for Dr. ZakirNaik

Syndicate of the University of Karachi (KU) has officially approved the conferment of an honorary Doctor of Philosophy (HonorisCausa) degree in the Faculty of Islamic Studies to renowned Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Abdul KarimNaik from Malaysia. This decision was made during a special Syndicate meeting convened in response to a letter from Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, who also serves as the chancellor of public sector universities.

The governor recommended the University of Karachi to award this honorary degree to the esteemed figure. The meeting, chaired by KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, took place at the KU Secretariat. Before discussing the agenda, the members observed a moment of silence and offered prayers for the departed souls of MNA ShahidaRehmani’s mother and Dr. Anwar Naseem, former governing body members of KU’s Dr. A.Q. Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering.
