The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government Thursday requested the Peshawar High Court to probe the May 9 incident, following which Dozens of cases were framed against the PTI Supremo and former Prime Minister Imran Khan and hundreds of other Party activists.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), on Sunday wrote a letter to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court JusticeIshtiaq Ibrahim for the constitution of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 incident.
KP Law Minister AftabAlamAfridi, while speaking to newsmen said a letter requesting the establishment of a judicial commission was sent to the chief justice by the administration department.”
Afridi said that the chief justice will announce the names for the commission, adding that the judicial commission will be headed by a PHC judge.
A day earlier, the KP cabinet approved the establishment of aa judicial commission to probe the May 9 events during the meeting presided by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The PTI, it may be recalled, has also called for the judicial inquiry of the Bannu tragedy that claimed the Iives of five people and injured dozens other on July 19.
