KP cabinet approves KPLU&BCA act-2021

Provincial Cabinet while going for the first ever legislation of its kind has approved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Land Use and Building Control Authority KPLU&BCA Act 2021, on Thursday.

As directed by the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan land use planning of 6 big cities has been completed whereas Master Plan of 20 cities are in the process of completion. It is hoped that this legislation will not only put an end to unplanned urbanization but will also help to save Agriculture lands in various cities.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information and Higher Education Kamran Bangash while talking to media after the cabinet meeting, said following the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the first province to set up authority for proper utilization of the land.

He said this will lead beatification of cities as well as put an end to the use of fertile agriculture land for commercial purposes.

Kamran Bangash said “We will try our best to ensure Urban planning of international standard”. The Cabinet meeting held here today with the Chief Minister KP Mehmood Khan in the Chair. Cabinet members, CS, ACS and Administrative Secretaries also attended the meeting.

Expressing his views about local bodies elections, Kamran Bangash said, local bodies election will be held with village council and neighborhood council in the 1st phase and election to the tehsil council in 2nd phase.

“Cabinet Committee will soon meet Election Commission and the final decision will be made public” Kamran made clear.

He informed that Cabinet also approved Waqf properties Amendment Act 2021 which will discourage the lease and extension of Waqf property at throw away prices.

He said that Auqaf Department so far has retrieved 4000 canal of land, earning a Revenue of more than 5 billion to the province.

This amended Act will lead to more Revenue generation after being passed by the Assembly”, He hoped.

Expressing his views about other decisions of the cabinet, Kamran Bangash said the Levies Force of the Ex-PATA, retired as per Home Department’s notification of March 22,2021, have been reinstated.
