KARACHI – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Karachi and parts of Sindh on Tuesday night and Wednesday (Ashura days).
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), light to moderate monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate central and upper parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in Karachi, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta and Sajawal on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Wednesday and 35-37°C on Thursday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39-41°C on Wednesday and 38-40°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Karachi and most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours. However, some areas received isolated rains.

Nawabshah remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Sukkur and Hyderabad was recorded at 43°C.
In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 66 per cent.
