Karachi, Hyderabad, Sindh weather update; scattered rains expected

KARACHI – Scattered rains are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Thursday night and Friday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. Strong currents from the Bay of Bengal will likely enter the upper parts tonight. A westerly wave will also likely enter the upper parts tonight.

Under these weather conditions, rains are expected at isolated places in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot and Sanghar on Thursday night.

On Friday, scattered rains are expected in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroze, Larkana, Dadu, Jacobabad, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tharparkar, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot and Sanghar.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Friday and 32-34°C on Saturday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of Sindh during the last 24 hours

Dadu, Mohenjo-Daro and Sukkur remained the hottest places in Sindh where the maximum temperature was recorded at 41°C. The maximum temperature in Nawabshah was recorded at 40°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 69 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 60 per cent.
