Karachi, Hyderabad, Sindh weather update; more intermittent rains expected

KARACHI – More intermittent rains with isolated heavy falls are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Sunday night and Monday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave also prevails over northern parts of the country.

Under these conditions, more intermittent rains are expected in Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Ghotki, Khairpur, Matiari, Nowshehru Feroze, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Padaidan, Sajawal, Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana. , Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Qamber Shahdadkot, and Dadu on Sunday night and Monday.

Isolated heavy falls may also occur in Larkana, Jacobabad, Qambar Shahdadkot, Dadu, Jamshoro, Hyderabad and Karachi during this period. Downpours may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Karachi, Sukkur, Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur and Khairpur.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 30-32°C on Monday and Tuesday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 32-34°C on Monday and 34-36°C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in Karachi and parts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Rainfall: Karachi (Gadap 42, Orangi Town 29, Surjani Town 19, North Karachi 21, Nazimabad 10, Masroor Base 09, Gulshan-E-Maymar 08, Kemari 03, Old Area Airport, Faisal Base 02, University Road 02, Jinnah Terminal 01), Jacobabad, Larkana 15, Tando Jam 12, Badin 09, Mohenjo-Daro 07, Chhor, Sakrand 05, Hyderabad 04, Padidan, Nawabshah 03, Mir Pur Khas 02, Thatta, Dadu, Mithi 01

Thatta and Mithi remained the hottest places in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 31°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 79 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 89 per cent.
