KARACHI – The vigilance department of the Pakistan Airports Authority has unveiled new policy for people visiting the Karachi airport to receive or see-off their relatives.
The measure is part of the decisions taken by the authority to tighten the security of the Jinnah International Airport following a terrorist attack on Chinese citizen in its proximity.
Reports said authorities have made it mandatory for the visitors to bring a copy of the ticket of the passenger as without it they will be denied entry.
The vigilance department has directed the security officials to check the tickets at the entry points of the airport.
Furthermore, only four people can now go to the airport to receive a passenger, said the new guidelines.
The visitors will also require presenting their national identity card to the security officials at entry points of the airports for verification.
The new policy will be implemented soon, said the reports. The move comes after a recent terrorist attack near the Karachi airport.
A day earlier, the Sindh government claimed to have busted a group behind the attack on Chinese nationals at Karachi airport.
