In a charged protest outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner in Attock, journalists gathered to demand the return of their press club building, which they claim has been illegally occupied by the district administration for the past 12 years. Led by Chief Patron and senior journalist of Attock Press Club, Syed Raza Naqvi, the demonstrators voiced their grievances against the district administration, emphasizing their right to reclaim the building for the journalist community.

Various groups and unions of journalists from Attock, Hazro, Fatehjang, Hassanabdal, and Jand participated in the protest, echoing slogans such as “Sadahaqithayrakh,” “zulumkayzabty hum naheemananty,” and “sahahfizandahai” within the premises of the Deputy Commissioner building. Raza Naqvi highlighted that the press club, registered in 1993 under the societies registration act 1860, had been allotted a building by the district council in 1986. However, since 2012, the district administration has allegedly occupied the building without any amended resolution from the district council or written orders.

Chairman of Attock Press Club, Sheikh Javaid Akhter, expressed concern over the treatment of journalists in the democratic government, stating that the united journalist community stands firm in its legitimate demand for the return of the press club building without further delay.
