Jit Declares Pti Leadership Responsible For May 9 Riots

LAHORE – A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report on May 9 cases has declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership and several party members responsible for the riots.

The report has been submitted before an Anti-Terrorism Court seized with the hearing of the cases related to May 9 in Lahore.

“The PTI leadership incited the public on May 9,” said the JIT in its report before the court.

According to the JIT investigation, Asad Umar, Azam Swati, Hafiz Farhat and others have been found guilty. The PTI leadership has also been held responsible.

During the hearing, ATC Judge Arshad Javed questioned the defense lawyers, stating, “You asked for time to complete the investigation, which has now been done. So, present your arguments,”.

The court adjourned the hearing and summoned the defense lawyers to present their arguments at the next hearing due on January 14.

Accused declared guilty in Jinnah House attack case:

A major development has taken place in five cases related to the May 9 cases including Jinnah House Attack and arson at the Shadman police station.

The investigation officer has declared the suspect guilty in four cases in his report before the court.

During the hearing, the investigating officer presented the investigation report against Jamshed Iqbal Cheema and Musarrat Jamshed Cheema in four cases before the ATC Administrative Judge Manzar Ali Gul.

At this occasion, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, and Mazmil Masood appeared in court as their interim bail period expired.
