Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Engr Hafiz Naeem Rahman, has decried the international community’s silence over the tragic deaths of 32,000 Palestinians, including women and children, in Gaza. He emphasized that responsibility for these atrocities lies not only with the United States and Israel but also with Muslim leaders who have remained silent on this issue.
Naeemur Rahman announced that a “Unity Night” rally, titled “Shab-e-Yakjehti Gaza,” will be held on March 30th at Shahrah-e-Quaideen. He urged people from all walks of life to participate along with their families. He also called for generous contributions to the Palestine Relief Fund and urged a boycott of Israeli products. Regarding Karachi’s deteriorating law and order situation, Rahman blamed the PPP government for failing to address the issue effectively.
He highlighted that during the current government’s tenure, Karachi has witnessed a surge in armed robberies, resulting in the loss of lives and property. Rahman announced that the Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its constitutional, legal, and democratic struggle against electoral fraud and vowed to launch a massive movement after Eid-ul-Fitr.
He criticized the government’s crackdown on protests in Islamabad against Israel and called it shameful and condemnable. Speaking at a press conference after his recovery from illness, Rahman was joined by Deputy Amir Karachi, Dr. Osama Razi, General Secretary Munawar Zafar Khan, Deputy Emirs Muslim Parvez and Raja Aarif Sultan, Information Secretary Zahid Asghari, and City Council member Qazi Sadruddin.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Engr Hafiz Naeem Rahman expressed concern over the government’s decision to appoint administrators on cooperative societies in Karachi and vowed that the Jamaat-e-Islami would not accept it. Rahman reiterated the people’s trust in the Jamaat-e-Islami, as evidenced by their support in local and national elections.
He emphasized that the problems facing Karachi cannot be solved merely by suspending motorbike and city bus services and called for joint operations with the military and Rangers to root out criminal elements.
