Jamaat-e-Islami has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court challenging the severe load shedding in Karachi. The petition demands that consumers who pay their electricity bills be exempted from power outages. K-Electric, NEPRA, and the Power Division, among others, have been made respondents in the case.

The petition argues that, in light of NEPRA’s recent decision, K-Electric should be restrained from cutting off power to feeders based on the non-payment of bills by specific households.

It insists that NEPRA’s ruling, which stipulates that paying customers should not suffer from load shedding, be enforced by the court.

Jamaat-e-Islami calls for the court to ensure the implementation of NEPRA’s decision, protecting bill-paying consumers from the ongoing power outages in Karachi.
