Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced a protest march towards the Chief Minister house after two days. This decision comes in response to the alleged irregularities in the intermediate exam results.
Naeem-ur-Rehman accused the Sindh government’s negligence and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. In a press conference held at the Jamaat-e-Islami office on Tuesday, Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed concerns about the discrepancy in the results and claimed that the government was involved in manipulating the outcome to favor certain political parties. He stated that Jamaat-e-Islami would lead a march towards the Chief Minister’s House on January 30th, involving affected students and their parents.
The Ameer JI Karachi emphasized that the issue went beyond mere statements and press conferences, and called for concrete action to address the irregularities. He urged the Chief Election Commissioner to fulfill his responsibilities and ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi also criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), alleging that the party’s chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was focused on political gains elsewhere while neglecting the educational issues in Karachi. He accused the PPP of hindering the progress of students in the city and criticized the performance of officials associated with the party. Naeem-ur-Rehman concluded the press conference by stating that the people of Karachi would reject the threats issued by the PPP, referring to recent warnings about water supply cutoffs if voters did not participate in the upcoming elections.
He labeled such tactics as undemocratic and urged citizens to step out of their homes on February 8th to cast their votes. This development comes amid a larger context of political tensions in Karachi, with various parties gearing up for the general elections scheduled for February 8, 2024.
