Islamabad, Rawalpindi weather update; more rain, hailstorm likely

ISLAMABAD – More rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday evening/night.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a trough of westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist during the next 12-18 hours.

Under these conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms and few hailstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday evening/night.

On Wednesday and Thursday, dry weather is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country. Rain is likely at isolated places in Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Gusty winds are likely elsewhere in the country.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 30-32 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 33-35 C on Thursday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 30-32 C on Wednesday and 33-35 C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in Kashmir, upper/central Punjab, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Mithi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 14 per cent.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 26 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 43 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 25 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 40 per cent.
