ISLAMABAD – Intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely affect the upper parts of the country from tonight.
Under these conditions, intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in the twin cities and at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Pothohar region, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and northeast Balochistan on Thursday night.
On Friday and Saturday, more intermittent rain-wind/thundershowers are predicted in the twin cities and at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast/central Punjab, Pothohar region, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and northeast Balochistan.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Friday and 32-34°C on Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain-wind/thundershowers occurred in northeast Punjab, Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Dadu and Sibbi remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 47°C. Maximum temperature in Jacobabad was recorded at 46°C, and Dalbandin at 45°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 34°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 78 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 63 per cent.
