Islamabad, Pakistan weather update; more rains of varying intensities predicted

ISLAMABAD – More rains of varying intensities are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday night and Wednesday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate the southern and eastern parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over Kashmir and adjoining areas.

Under these weather conditions, rains are predicted in the twin cities and at isolated places in upper/southeast Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan, northeast/south Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday,  more rains with isolated heavy falls are predicted in the twin cities, Sindh, northeast/south Balochistan and south Punjab. Rains are also likely at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 31-33°C on Wednesday and 32-34°C on Thursday.

Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper/ southeastern Sindh, northern/southeastern Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 67 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 58 per cent.

More widespread rains likely in Pakistan till September 04
