ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms with light snowfall over the hills are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday evening/night and Friday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a weak westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist till Friday morning.
Under these conditions, light to moderate rain with wind/thunderstorms and light snowfall over the hills are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday evening/night. Dry and partly cloudy weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
On Friday, rain with wind/thunderstorms and light snowfall over the hills are likely in the twin cities, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas during morning hours.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 29-31 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 29-31 C on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.
Chhor remained the hottest place in the country where temperature reached 41 C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 30 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 76 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 30 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 52 per cent.
