ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather across Pakistan during the next two days.
According to the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country on Tuesday evening/night, Wednesday and Thursday.
Biting cold and partly cloudy weather is likely in northern parts during the period.
Fog update for Pakistan
Fog/smog will likely occur in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during morning and night hours.
Frost may occur at few places in Potohar region during morning hours.
Dense fog may cause the closure of portions of Motorways from late night till morning.
Less visibility may also disrupt normal vehicular movement on National Highway.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 01-03 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 00-02 C on Thursday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 03-05 C on Wednesday and 02-04 C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours.
Freezing and partly cloudy weather prevailed over northern areas.
Skardu remained the coldest place in the country where the mercury dropped 10 C below freezing.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 03 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 92 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 74 per cent.
