ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday summoned Inspector General of Islamabad police in a case related to missing citizen Faizan Khan.
Justice Babar Sattar of the IHC heard the petition of Usman Khan, the father of missing citizen Faizan.
The petitioner’s lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Chatha along with the state counsel and police officials, appeared before the court.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer informed the court that Faizan had been released on Monday morning.
Justice Sattar then questioned the police officials, asking, “Did you interrogate him? Who took him? Where was he taken?” The police officials responded that no interrogation had been conducted yet, and that a video had been uploaded.
Expressing displeasure over the lack of investigation, the court asked, “Where was the video uploaded from?” The police officials stated that they had contacted the IT department regarding this.
Justice Babar Sattar expressed anger, observing that “Four days have passed, and you still have not conducted an investigation.”
The court summoned IG Islamabad and adjourned the hearing for a while.
