ISLAMABAD – It is illegal to drive a car, motorcycle and any other vehicle without a valid driving license across Pakistan, including its capital city.
Driving a vehicle without a valid permit or expired document can land the drivers in trouble as they can face penalties and in case of accident the situation could be worse for them.
The Islamabad Traffic Police have a smoother process for renewal of car and motorcycle license if it is applied within three years of the expiry.
The applicant will require to submit some documents in case of renewal within three years of expiry of the license while the applicant has to appear for theory and driving test if it is applied after the three years.
Driving License Renewal Process in Islamabad
You can book an appointment online or can visit any nearby traffic police office for the renewal.

Go to the Islamabad Traffic Police office and get a token after showing your original CNIC card at the reception.
Proceed with the biometric verification and photo capturing
Wait for your turn, go to the counter, and fill the form you are given by the official
Attach the required documents to the form and submit it to them
Pay the license renewal fee
Get the confirmation slip that carries the date for receiving of the license

Car+Motorcycle Driving License Renewal Fee in Islamabad
The renewal fee of driving license within 30 days stands at Rs2,000 while it will be Rs3,500 after thirty days but within one year of date of expiry of the license.
The renewal fee for driving license within three years of the expiry has been fixed at Rs3,000.
