LAHORE – Users in various cities of Pakistan are facing internet disruption while there is no statement from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in this regard.

The broadband and mobile data users are experiencing difficulties with browsing, downloading, and accessing different social media platform such as Instagram. Those, who are even using VPNs, are also facing disruption in internet.

The disruption has affected online businesses, freelancers and other sectors as they are unable to perform their tasks timely due to slow speed of internet.

Reports said the disruption in social media platforms might be happening due to firewall activated by the PTA. However, there is no official statement from the authority so far.

It is recalled that the government restored the internet services in twin cities a day earlier after it was suspended due to protest launched by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
