PESHAWAR – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday held meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and discussed the pressing security concerns in the region.
The both leaders expressed deep concern over the incident and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the Chinese government, the affected families and the general public.
The meeting took place two days after a suicide bomber hit the explosive-laden vehicle to the convoy comprising Chinese engineers who were on their way from Islamabad to Dasu Dam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur underscored the importance of enhancing intelligence-based operations to counter terrorist activities effectively. They decided to improve coordination among the law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of the citizens, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which was significantly affected by the terrorism.
The interior minister reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to bringing the perpetrators of terrorism to justice. He stated that such cowardly attacks would not weaken the nation’s resolve in its fight against terrorism.
“We will provide full assistance to the KP government,” said Naqvi.
CM Gandapur also assured that the provincial government would spare no effort in utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He reiterated that ensuring peace and security in the region remained a top priority for the provincial government.
“Maintaining the law and order situation is our top priority,” said the CM. However, the CM said that KPK was the most affected province by the terrorism.
Both the leaders decided to strengthen their cooperation at the provincial and the federal level to fight against terrorism. They said that unity and solidarity were quite important to deal with the such challenges. They also vowed to work together to strengthen the security measures and safeguard the national interests.
The both sides renewed commitment to speed up efforts to fight against terrorism and to provide all necessary support to the affected families and communities.
