Vice Chancellor Abbottabad University of Science & Technology (AUST) Dr, Tahir Irfan Khan has said that industry and Academia should work jointly for the prosperity of country and we have developed bi lateral relation with Hattar Industrial estate. “” On the basis of our meetings with Industry, we managed to start Faculty of Engineering and institute of materials, minerals & mining Engineering.“
In a briefing with newsmen at AUST here on Wednesday, VC AUST told that they have been trying to develop micro industry beside providing the expertise and skills to those individuals who can work & own these micro units. He pointed out that Chromites deposits existed in Besham, Kohistan and Swat. Similarly other precious minerals like Aluminum, Copper, Boxide deposits available in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkwa, which he said which have not processed in Pakistan. He said that they have focused to develop this industry which will provide employment opportunities to local as well.
Dr, Tahir further said that he has changed the old communication system according to which one file move from one place to other takes months and used faster communication in University and processes are being made through email which improved efficiency of the management. Similarly, He told that we also focused on Research because universities are centers of learning and transferring khowledge.
