Islamabad
India has continued its water aggression against Pakistani rivers as the water level in River Chenab has reached a very low and discharge of water has been stopped from Khanki Barrage due to low inflow on Wednesday.
The inflow of water at Khanki Barrage has fallen to 5,000 cusecs halting the outflow from the barrage. It has been reported that if this situation persisted then it would become difficult to water the crops, posing a challenge to farmers.
Chenab River is one of the largest rivers of the Indus basin while Khanki Headworks is the oldest barrage on Chenab River and was completed in 1892. Separately, Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan met with Governor Punjab and strongly condemned Indian atrocities in Kashmir and Indian firing on the Line of Control (LOC).
AJK President said peace has been ruined while Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said Modi is snatching Kashmiris’ land and resettling Hindus in the Occupied Kashmir.—INP
