LAHORE – The chances of the Indian team visiting Pakistan to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy, hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board, have brightened.
Indian media has claimed that the head of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah, stated that after winning the T20 World Cup, the Indian team is now focused on winning the World Test Championship and the ICC Champions Trophy. Senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be present in both events.
BCCI head Jay Shah further said that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be key members of the Indian team participating in the ODI tournament.
He expressed his desire for India to win all titles, emphasizing that they have the strongest bench strength. Only three players from this team are going to Zimbabwe, and if needed, they can field three teams.
He added that, considering the progress of the Indian team, their target is to win the World Test Championship final and the Champions Trophy.
Rohit Sharma was also the captain last year. They won all matches in 2023 except the final because Australia played better. This time, they have worked even harder and played better to win the title.
