LAHORE – The Indian team will play International Cricket Council ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in Dubai amid approval of the Hybrid Model, Indian media said Friday.
Reports shared by Indian media said top cricket body International Cricket Council (ICC) okayed a hybrid model for 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which was originally scheduled to be hosted solely by Pakistan.
After the new decision, the tournament will be played across two countries, with Men in Blue opting not to travel to Pakistan. India’s matches in the 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in Dubai as per latest understanding.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will not receive extra compensation for the hybrid format but will be granted the opportunity to host an ICC Women’s tournament after 2027, it said.
Cricket authorities of arch-rival nations agreed, in principle, that Pakistan’s team will not travel to India for their league-stage match in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, and that match will be held in Colombo, as the T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
This agreement marks significant shift in the planning of major international cricket events, with both boards managing to find a compromise on hosting arrangements while ensuring the continuation of key fixtures.
