Imran Khan directs party leaders not to compromise on release of prisoners

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the party not to compromise on the release of prisoners.

“Imran Khan gave these directions during a meeting with the government,” said the sources quoting Imran Khan. The sources said that Imran Khan held a meeting with Barrister Ali Zafar and Salman Akram Raja.

They said, “The PTI leadership finalized the strategy before the negotiations,”.

During the meeting, Imran Khan emphasized that there should be no compromise on the release of prisoners.

Speaking informally with the media, Salman Akram Raja said, “We stand firm on our stance and remain hopeful for the success of the negotiations,”.

After meeting Imran Khan, the negotiation committee members departed from Adiala Jail.

It may be mentioned here that the second round of negotiations between the government and PTI committees is scheduled for .

In the first meeting on December 23, both sides had agreed to continue the talks.

The government’s negotiation committee included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Rana Sanaullah, Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Farooq Sattar, Ijaz-ul-Haq and Khalid Magsi. For PTI, Asad Qaiser, Ijaz Chaudhry, Hamid Raza  and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.
