Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan on Thursday said that Lt. General (Retd) Faiz Hameed was our asset but he has been wasted, adding that the former army chief, General (Retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had removed the latter to ensure extension in his tenure.

Talking to media inside Adyala Jail, he said, “General Bajwa had removed Faiz Hameed at the behest of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. Bajwa even dislodged my government for his extension.” He said he had even exchanged harsh words with Bajwa over the issue.

“If the Army is holding accountability of Faiz Hameed, that is okay but (in that case) accountability of all should be held,” he uttered. However, he also distanced himself from General (Retd) Faiz saying that he had nothing to do with the detained ex-ISI chief.
