The provincial capital has witnessed a noteworthy decline in crime rates. Prompt responses to distress calls, particularly through the 15 emergency hotline, have resulted in a 20% reduction in overall incidents, with a notable 19% drop in vehicle snatching cases. Capital City Police Officer Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamiana, underscored this achievement in a statement, highlighting a 17% decrease in property crimes and a corresponding 17% drop in crimes against individuals during November compared to the preceding month. Moreover, there has been a remarkable 16% decline in under-investigation cases over the last six months, indicative of improved investigative quality.

Kamiana reported that six months ago, daily registrations of motorcycle theft cases ranged from 130 to 160. However, due to enhanced patrolling and strategic measures, this number has dwindled to 30 to 50 cases per day. The CCPO also noted the expedited resolution of over 4 lakh pending road certificates and more than 3 lakh under-investigation cases spanning the years 2018-2023. Crucially, serious offenses such as robbery, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, murder, and attempted murder have witnessed a substantial decrease, emphasizing the effectiveness of the police’s concerted efforts. Kamiana credited the success to ongoing crackdowns against former record holders, notorious criminals, an efficient checking system, and intensified police patrolling. Under the Lahore Police’s well-devised strategy, motorcycle thefts have been brought under control, and significant strides have been made in curbing major incidents like robbery and murder during attempted robberies. The continuous efforts to target ex-record holders and notorious criminals, coupled with an efficient patrolling system, stand out as key contributors to the impressive reduction in crime rates in the provincial capital.
