The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the federal government’s nerve-centre for monitoring virus situation in the country and for unifying national efforts to curb and control the virus. The notice is in regard to fresh curbs it has imposed on indoor marriage ceremonies.
Justice Athar Minallah while hearing a plea of the Islamabad Marquee Association sought reply from the NCOC by November 18 and explain why it had banned indoor weddings. The NCOC on November 6 banned indoor marriage ceremonies w.e.f. Nov 20. Chief Justice of the IHC Justice Athar Minallah while hearing the case wondered if the government could not be held responsible in case coronavirus spreads because of indoor wedding ceremonies.
