A meeting was held at the Central Police Office on Tuesday, presided over by IG Sindh GhulamNabiMemon, to review security arrangements for Chinese citizens in the province. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Karachi, DIGs, SSPs, and other police officers.
The IG Sindh briefed the meeting on the security measures and strategies in place for the protection of Chinese citizens in Sindh. The Special Protection Unit (SPU) Karachi will provide complete and foolproof security to Chinese citizens. The district police are responsible for ensuring the security clearance of areas where Chinese citizens reside.
The IG Sindh directed the concerned units to provide additional personnel to the SPU immediately. A security audit of the residences, workplaces, and projects of Chinese citizens will be conducted again. A 4-member committee comprising representatives from the DIG, Headquarters, Establishment, SPU, and Special Branch will be formed to review security measures related to the movement and residence of Chinese citizens. The committee will ensure that security measures are in place as per the rules and regulations for Chinese citizens.
