LAHORE- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid issued a bold challenge to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif to contest election against her  if he is so brave.

Yasmin Rashid made this challenge while talking to the reporters during appearance of her case before an anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Thursday.

“If Nawaz Sharif truly possesses the courage he claims, he should contest elections against me,” said Dr. Yasmin Rashid, emphasized her belief that Nawaz Sharif, as a self-proclaimed brave leader, should back up his claims by participating in an election against her.

She drew attention to what she termed “the blame game,” highlighting that someone who  contested an election should not be allowed to participate, particularly in Nawaz Sharif’s case, as he was convicted and is considered a proclaimed offender.

“Despite these legal challenges, he is still being considered for participation in elections,” she added.

The PTI leader also raised concerns about the special privileges provided to Nawaz Sharif and the delay in the indictment of their cases, implying that this points to a pre-determined selection process rather than a fair election.

In a noteworthy move, the World Medical Association addressed a letter to the Prime Minister and President, inquiring about the arrest and detention of Dr. Yasmin Rashid.

In a related development, former Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema also said that Nawaz Sharif was being given protocol while their challans were pending for last couple of months.

“They have put us in the jail for last six months,” said the former governor.

He said they wanted them to address a press conference. Cheema also refuted speculations of leaving the PTI, asserting that they would have left already if that were the case.
