The Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, presided over a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office Islamabad to evaluate the current crime scenario, a public relations officer said.
He said that the meeting was attended by CPO Operations, SSP Operations,AIG Operations, SSP Investigations, all Zonal DPOs, SDPOs, and all Incharge police stations. During the meeting ICCPO scrutinized the performance of all divisions and issued directives to officers regarding crime prevention targets.
Each officer underwent individual scrutiny, and those exhibiting poor performance were reprimanded. The ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan directed all officers to promptly respond to “Pucar-15” emergency calls, assess registered cases in police stations, liaise with complainants, and provide feedback on their requests. Further directions were given to
improve inspection standards, expedite the process of filing cases for swift court proceedings, and rectify deficiencies found during case investigations.
To enhance investigations, officers were directed to include scene photography in their investigation protocols. Senior officers were tasked with weekly assessments of police station performances, appointing competent and reputed officers proficient in investigative matters, and ensuring optimal facilities for appointed officers and staff at respective stations.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan further emphasized advertising campaigns against criminals, absconders and proclaimed offenders, swift actions against drug peddlers, and curbing narcotics circulation in educational institutions.
