ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new VPN registration facility for freelancers in the country.
It comes as the authority is taking measures to regulate internet usage and curb spread of illegal content in the country.
Earlier, it was necessary to provide static IP address to register the VPN but the freelancers who did not have it were facing problems in the registration process.
VPNs Registration via Mobile Number
Now, PTA has provided the facility to register VPNs via mobile numbers. Now, freelancers who do not have a static IP address can use this option to register their VPN through their mobile number.
Freelancers can register their mobile number with PTA to use a VPN on their mobile data connection. The registration link is: [https://ipregistration.pta.gov.pk]. After clicking it, you will need to provide mobile number and other information to complete the registration process.
According to PTA, this facility has been introduced to promote the IT sector and simplify the VPN registration process. So far, PTA has registered over 31,000 VPNs.
