Former Governor Punjab and the Chairman Board of Management Institute of Public Health, Lt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool has said that employees/workers who discharge their duties with honesty and dedication for the betterment of their institution are always a very valuable asset of any institution / department.
He said that protecting the rights and welfare of the employees is the responsibility of the high-ups of that department / institution to acknowledge the services of the workers.
These views were expressed by Lt. Gen. (R) Khalid Maqbool while distributing uniforms and shoes amongst the grade four employees of the Institute of Public Health (IPH), here on Thursday. Besides Dean IPH, Prof. Dr. Zarfishan Tahir, Faculty members and the officers of the IPH also attended the ceremony. More than 50 employees of grade 1 to 4 got uniforms “Shalwar- Kameez” and shoes whereas “dupatta” was also included in the female’s uniforms.
Expressing her sentiments on the occasion , Dean Prof. Dr. Zarfishan Tahir said that besides the efforts and keen interest taken by the high-ups of the Punjab government ,for making the IPH a vibrant institution , the services and hardworking of the employees of the institute are also commendable who are always ready to fulfill any task given to them.
Highlighting the role of IPH for the improvement of the public health sector, Dr. Zarfishan said that IPH rendering services to promote medical education and a number of degree and diploma courses are being offered at the institute.
She elaborated that research work on different viral diseases is also carried out for prevention and control of these diseases. Diagnostic facilities for Covid patients are being provided in the BSLIII Lab and a total 213556 Corona tests have so far been conducted at IPH which was not an easy task for the doctors, pathologists and the workers to handle such a high number of cases of a fast spreading viral disease.
On this occasion, the employees who got uniforms expressed their happiness and thanked the chairman BoM, Khalid Maqbool and the Dean IPH Dr. Zarfishan Tahir for awarding them with uniforms.
