Hamdard Foundation Pakistan (HFP) organized an awareness walk on the theme of “Health for All” yesterday to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Led by Ms. Sadia Rashid, President HFP, the walk commenced from Hamdard Corporate Head Office Tariq Road and concluded at Mazar-e-Quaid. Hamdard Pakistan workers, students of Rufaidah Hamdard College of Nursing, Hamdard Public School, and Hamdard Village School, and people from different walks of life took part.

While talking to the media, Ms. Sadia Rashid stated that the upcoming month of April marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the World Health Organization (WHO). As an active partner organization of WHO, Hamdard has been organizing the International Children’s Health Conference annually for the past thirty years. To celebrate WHO’s 75th anniversary, Hamdard Pakistan has planned a schedule of various activities in line with WHO’s goal “Health for All” to promote health awareness among the general public during the month of March. She said: “Unfortunately the prevalence of health issues is on the rise in Pakistan.

This can be attributed to our unhealthy lifestyle, which has led to a surge in various diseases and illnesses. As a result, a significant portion of the population finds itself in a state of ‘infirmity,’ a physical state in which no apparent disease is present, but the underlying causes of illness and disease are present and active.”Ms. Sadia Rashid emphasized the significance of adopting a simplistic lifestyle akin to that of our ancestors, prioritizing physical activity, such as walking and regular exercise, and maintaining moderation in dietary habits.

“Moreover, people must prioritize the health of our youth, who are the assets of our country, to secure a promising and progressive future for our nation,” she said. While commenting on a large number of participants, Ms. Sadia Rashid expressed her delight and remarked that the sizable turnout serves as a testament to the growing momentum of Hamdard Pakistan’s message of “Wellness to Wellbeing.”On this occasion, Rooh Afza was sampled for the youthful participants of the walk.
