Health, relief activities to be top priority of KP budget: CM

As the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Thursday reported more deaths taking the number of casualties from COVID-19 to 500 figure and positive cases tally to 11400 in the province, KP government has banned entry in all government offices without wearing face masks to counter the coronavirus pandemic. All departments have been directed by the provincial regime to put up banners of ‘no mask, no entry’ at prominent areas and entry points.
Chairing a meeting of the provincial cabinet held here on Thursday Mahmood Khan said that strengthening of health infrastructure in order to make it compatible with the challenges of the corona pandemic as well as relief activities will be the top priority of the provincial government in the next financial budget.
The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, however, said that despite the financial crunches due to the prevailing corona situation, development portfolio of the province in the next financial budget will not be compromised. He said major chunk of the upcoming Annual Development Program (ADP) will be allocated for the completion of ongoing developmental schemes whereas new developmental schemes will also be reflected in the ADP of next financial year only on need basis subject to cent percent feasibility.
He has added that strengthening of health infrastructure in order to make it compatible with the challenges of the corona pandemic.
